Constructed of silvered brass, the obverse consisting of an eight pointed radiant starburst, joined together through the rays by a banner bearing an inscription of MIT GOTT FR KNIG UND VATERLAND 1800 (WITH GOD FOR KING AND FATHERLAND 1860), bearing a central Prussian eagle, set within a ring bearing an inscription of SUUM CUIQUE (TO EACH HIS OWN) with laurel branches, the reverse with one attachment loop intact, unmarked,
