MANCH: REGT, with TRANSVAAL, ORANGE FREE STATE and CAPE COLONY clasps, dark patina, light discolouration on reverse, ribbon slightly discoloured with residue around the clasps, light contact marks, dark patina on obverse, remains very fine. Footnote: J. W. Ward is present on the South Africa Medal Roll for the 2nd Battalion Manchester Regiment. The battalion arrived in South Africa in late 1899
