Instituted 31 December 1850 by King Friedrich Augustus II of Saxony. (1901 1918 Issue). Constructed of Gold with multi coloured enamels, presenting as a Latin Cross with white enameled arms, joined by a green enameled laurel wreath, obverse with central Gold medallion depicting rightward facing profile of Duke Albert III of Saxony, inside blue enameled ring with gilded inscription of ALBERTUS ANIMOSUS
