Germany, Weimar Republic. An Early Totenkopf Cap Insignia, c. 1923 Auction otherwise fine fine(Totenkopf Mtzenabzeichen). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of a vaulted and jawless Danziger style Totenkopf, the reverse retaining one of two attachment prongs, unmarked, measuring 31. 58 mm (w) x 29. 19 mm (h), weighing 2. 9 grams, an early variant worn as a traditions badge by Reichswehr members, the Schutzstaffel, Wehrwolf, and other early nationalist movements in better than very fine condition.
