Renown for its toilet like shape, these plants benefit nutritionally by functioning as lavatories for tree shrews as the animals lick the exudate (sugar) from their lids. Nepenthes lowii has a wide range across the island of Borneo with each locale having slightly different characteristics. After seeing the plants throughout locations in Sabah and Sarawak, I believe the forms from
