As expected from a vineyard at 980m above see level this looks very much like a cool climate rendition of Grenache

The fruit is always hand-picked and the 2019 was partially destemmed (76%) to whole berries with the balance remaining as whole bunches

Brut Réserve by Taittinger has a brilliant golden straw colour

and finer than in the past

Spinifex Bête Noir 2022 Size::6 Bottle Case Tasting notesDeep, complex nose. Layers of dark fruits blackberry, black currant, ripe dark cherry fuse with delicate white pepper, rosemary and baking spices, underlain with bass notes of savoury walnut, black tea and game. Medium to full bodied palate, even, strong yet supple. Flavours range through dark sour plum, red cherry, dried herbs. Restrained yet fleshy mid palate ripe fruit acids and fresh tannins draw to a long finish.
