A Spink-Made Oman Sultan Of Oman's Commendation Medal (Midal Ut-Tawsit) Auction After looking at sites inOman; Gold coloured gilt on metal, 36. 7 mm, gilt palm on an original ribbon with pinback, maker marked "SPINK & SON Ltd" on the pinback, light contact, near extremely fine. Footnote: The medal was instituted by Sultan Said bin Taimur in 1960. Originally awarded for acts of brave conduct of a standard lower than that for the Gallantry Medal, but later converted into an award for distinguished service and leadership.
