measuring 35 mm (w) x 41 mm (h - inclusive of horizontally pierced ball suspension)
but the hazards of crossing a heavily crevassed glacier were greatly increased by darkness
with a block hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a round wire catch

In bronze, traces of text remains after most if its has been erased on the edge, manufactured by Etablissements Chobillon of France and engraver marked "C. Charles" (Charles Charles) on the obverse, measuring 36 mm (w) x 41 mm (h) inclusive of its laterally pierced ball suspension, edge nicks, bruised, spotting, original ribbon, fine.
