Starting in London in 1976, The Clash brought together rock, R&B, and reggae influences with explicitly political lyrics to create something all their own. They released their fourth album Sandinista! at the tail end of 1980. The record was a triple album featuring 36 songs that spanned many different genres. It was certified Gold in the UK and the US and has gone on to be a highly respected album.
