It produces extremely flared pitchers with peristomes so wide they take the appearance of a fat lip

The two are extremely similar except for the pulcachense having a revolute ptyxis while those of villenaorum are involute

Its leaves tend to yellow in transit if barerooted so all plants will be shipped potted to minimize transit shock

The plants have been greenhouse hardened and are much more tolerant of swings in temperature and humidity than plants grown under softer conditions or those freshly out of tissue culture
