A Maltese cross constructed of silver with red enameled arms; the obverse depicting an outline of the Hamburg castle; the reverse plain, inscribed Fr Verdienst im Kriege 1914 in Gothic lettering; on a double loop suspension from its period original ribbon; measuring 40. 30 mm (w) x 40. 81 mm (h); weighing 17. 8 grams with its ribbon; in overall extremely fine condition.
