A silver eight rayed star consisting of four larger and four smaller rays; the obverse with a raised central silver gilt medallion depicting a griffon, surrounded by a broad ring of red enamels, inscribed ALTIOR ADVERSIS in silver gilt lettering; the reverse with a vertical banjo style pinback with a functional hinge catch assembly; marked H. Rose, Schwerin on the reverse; measuring 79. 51
