Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a frontal depiction of a battleship cutting through waves, the reverse with a block hinge and banjo style pinback, maker marked with the logo of Friedrich Orth, Wien, measuring 43. 57 mm (w) x 56. 80 mm (h),
