Germany, Heer. An M43 Field Cap for Enlisted Ranks, Late-War Example Archive maker marked "SCHWERIN BERLIN 68"(Heer Einheitsfeldmtze M43 fr Mannschaften). A very well preserved, late war Heer M43 field cap for Enlisted ranks, constructed of field grey wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold down side panels, scalloped toward the front, which provide optional ear and neck protection to the wearer. When not in use, the panes roll up and are secured in place with two two pebbled magnetic metal buttons which emanate from the right flap and meet an equal number
