The ornamentations on the thin stem have a balance to them that pleases the eyethree upturned fluted motifs pointing toward the shade and one pointing toward the simple stacked base. Topping the cast iron piece off, above the beige poplin shade, is a finial that has the same tonal qualities as the body of the lamp, which reads as black but has the subtlest of hints
