Vintage John Sinclair MC5 "Freedom Rally" T-Shirt Disney and 85's ACJohn Sinclair, the activist and manager of MC5, was arrested in 1969 for possession of marijuana. Despite the apparent insignificance of the charge, he was handed down an extremely harsh sentence of ten years. Given his connection to music, his friends quickly came together to advocate for his release. One of their biggest efforts was the John Sinclair Freedom Rally which was held on December 10, 1971. The event was hosted at the massive Crisler Arena
