We do by these Presents grant unto you the dignity of the Knight Grand Commander of Our said Order
Germany, Third Reich. A Mine Rescue Honour Award, by the Prussian Mint Republic of dated 5 December 1944(Grubenwehr Ehrenzeichen). Constructed of silver, the obverse consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, overlaid by a crossed hammer and mallet, situated above a Free State of Prussia style German national eagle clutching a sword and cluster of lightning bolts, circumscribed by an inscription of FR VERDIENSTE UM DAS GRUBEN RETTUNGS WESEN (FOR MERIT IN MINE RESCUE), the reverse bearing a makers mark of PREUSS.
