Constructed of a silvered brass alloy, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, with a raised central depiction of a monoplane flying over a rural landscape, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 44. 96 mm (w) x 74. 58 mm (h), weighing 37. 8 grams, minor oxidation
