Japan, Imperial. An Order of the Golden Kite, III Class Commander with Case Archive marked "9 Ct" (9 Kt( (Kinshi kunsho). Instituted on February 12th, 1890. A Commander badge constructed of silver and multi coloured enamels, the obverse depicting a silver Kite (bird) superimposed on an eight pointed star with 32 rays enamelled in red, with two crossed ancient shields enamelled in blue, two crossed spears with silver heads enamelled yellow with a red banner on either side bearing a tomoe, the reverse plain, with four screws for the attachment of the
