Construted of silvered cupal; the shield; featuring national eagle with swooped down wings, clutching a wreathed swastika; inscribed Narvik in capital letters, with an Edelweiss flower (representing the Heer) in the center between the date 1940 and a crossed anchor (representing the Kriegsmarine) and propellor (representing the Luftwaffe) on the obverse; the reverse with its backing plate intact, as well as its four prongs
