Constructed of silver gilt, with white enameled arms and crossed swords between the arms of the cross; the obverse with a white enameled circular medallion depicting an enameled Brandenburg crowned eagle; the reverse with the crowned cipher of King Friedrich Wilhelm III; on a loop for suspension, with a looped silver gilt pair of oak leaves attached
